NHL Predictions

Vegas Golden Knights vs Florida Panthers

2024-25 Season Series: Golden Knights 1-1 Panthers

How to Watch:

U.S TV: Scripps Florida; Scripps Vegas; ESPN+

Time: 6 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

We open up NHL predictions with the Florida Panthers hosting the Vegas Golden Knights, who will likely go with Akira Schmid in goal for this game. This is due to the injury to normal starter Adin Hill. The Knights have gotten points in all seven games this season, including four consecutive wins. Jack Eichel is off to a flying start with 16 points in seven games.

Florida is expected to go with Sergei Bobrovsky in goal, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Injuries are really hitting the Panthers hard, and the team has been inconsistent. Brad Marchand is the team’s leader in goals (5) and points (10). However, Anton Lundell is also tied with Marchand with five assists.

Both teams are feeling the pain of injuries with Mark Stone for the Golden Knights. The Panthers should get the victory at home.

Prediction: Panthers win 4-2.

Montreal Canadiens vs Vancouver Canucks

2024-25 Season Series: Canadiens 2-0 Canucks

How to Watch:

U.S TV: NHL Network

Canada TV: Sportsnet; CityTV

Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Canadiens visiting the Canucks in a Saturday night matchup. Sam Montembeault is the projected starter for Montreal, which is coming off a loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Despite the loss, the Habs are 6-3 to start the season and lead the Atlantic Division. Nick Suzuki is tops in assists (10) and points (12) for the Canadiens. Cole Caufield is off to a fast start with seven goals for Montreal.

Thatcher Demko is the probable starter for the Canucks, who have dropped the last two games. Vancouver has been up and down this season with some good wins but tough losses. The Canucks have struggled to muster offence this season with just 2.63 goals per game. Vancouver has also picked up Lukas Reichel via trade from the Chicago Blackhawks. Conor Garland is the team’s leader in points with seven.

The Habs are looking to bounce back after the Thursday loss to the Oilers. Montreal’s offence should carry it to victory.

Prediction: Canadiens win 5-2.

Carolina Hurricanes vs Dallas Stars

2024-25 Season Series: Hurricanes 2-0 Stars

How to Watch:

U.S TV: Fan Duel Sports South; Victory+; ESPN+

Time: 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

Our last game of NHL predictions will have some Southern flair with the Carolina Hurricanes visiting the Dallas Stars. Carolina is projected to start Frederik Andersen in goal for this game. The Hurricanes have won six of their first seven games to begin the new season. Seth Jarvis is first in goals (7) and points (11). However, Sebastian Aho and Shayne Gostisbehere are co-leaders in the assist category with six.

Dallas, which has lost four consecutive games after winning the first three, will likely turn to Jake Oettinger in goal. The Stars have struggled to keep the puck out of the net with 3.71 allowed per game, which is 29th in the league. Wyatt Johnston, Mikko Rantanen, and Roope Hintz are all tied for first in points with eight. However, Johnston is first in goals with five.

Dallas will be desperate for a victory. However, Carolina prolongs the misery.

Prediction: Hurricanes win 4-3.

Prop Bets of the Night

We wrap up NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s go back to our featured game for our preferred props. The over/under for the Canadiens and Canucks game is 5.5, and we like the over in this game.

As for individual props, go with Alex Newhook to record at least a point in this game for the Canadiens. On the Canucks’ end of things, take Quinn Hughes to register a power-play point.
