NHL Predictions
Minnesota Wild vs New Jersey Devils
2024-25 Season Series: Wild 0-2 Devils
U.S TV: Fan Duel Sports North X; Fan Duel Sports Wisconsin; MSGSN; ESPN+
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
We open NHL predictions with the Minnesota Wild taking on the New Jersey Devils. Filip Gustavsson is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Minnesota is coming off an important victory over the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy are both off to flying starts with 10 points each. However, Kaprizov is tops in goals so far with five, while Boldy is first in assists with six.
Nico Daws is the confirmed starter with the Devils playing the night before against the Toronto Maple Leafs. New Jersey was coming into Tuesday night’s game with four straight victories. Jesper Bratt is the team’s leader in points with seven, but three other players are tied with Bratt for the lead in goals. These statistics are coming into Tuesday’s game with Toronto.
Minnesota will be more rested, and New Jersey will be playing its backup in this game. The Wild should collect the victory in this game.
Prediction: Wild win 5-3.
Montreal Canadiens vs Calgary Flames
2024-25 Season Series: Canadiens 0-2 Flames
How to Watch:
U.S TV: ESPN+
Canada TV: Sportsnet
Time: 8:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
Our final and featured game of NHL predictions has the Canadiens visiting the Flames. Sam Montembeault is the expected starter for Montreal, which is off to a 5-2 record to start the season. The Habs topped the Buffalo Sabres on Monday Night Hockey to continue their solid start. Nick Suzuki is first on the team in assists (9) and points (10) so far this campaign. However, Cole Caufield is leading the way on the team in goals with five.
Dustin Wolf is the projected starter for the Flames, but he’s had some hard luck so far this season. Wolf is 1-5 so far this season with an .867 save percentage for a Calgary team that’s dropped six consecutive games after beating the Edmonton Oilers in the season-opener. The Flames are dead-last in goals scored with a 1.57 average per game. Nazem Kadri is the team leader in points with four assists so far this season. Three players are tied for the Flames’ lead in goals with two apiece.
Calgary has struggled at both ends of the ice, while Montreal is off to a great start. The Habs should continue the Flames’ early-season woes.
Prediction: Canadiens win 4-1.
Prop Bets of the Night
We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s stay with our featured game for our preferred props. The over/under for this game is 5.5, and we like the under due to Calgary’s lack of offence. Wolf is also a capable goalie when he’s on his game and can keep pucks out of the net.
As for individual props, go with Lane Hutson to have a power-play point for the Canadiens. On the Flames’ side of things, take Kadri to get an assist in this game.
