NHL Predictions

Carolina Hurricanes vs New Jersey Devils

Series Head-to-Head: Hurricanes 2-1 Devils

Time: 3:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

TV: TBS, TruTV, SN 360, TVAS, MSGSN; Fan Duel Sports South; Max

We open up NHL predictions with Game 4 of the series between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New Jersey Devils. Frederik Andersen is the starter for Carolina, which is looking to take a 3-1 series lead. Jordan Martinook and Sebastian Aho are leading the team in points with three so far.

Jacob Markstrom is the team’s starter for New Jersey, which is looking to tie the series up at two games apiece. Simon Nemec scored a double overtime to give the Devils life in this series. Jesper Bratt is the team’s leader in points with three this post-season.

New Jersey played much better in Game 3. However, Carolina is looking to send the series back to Raleigh with a 3-1 lead.

Prediction: Hurricanes win 4-1.

Washington Capitals vs Montreal Canadiens

Series Head-to-Head: Capitals 2-1 Canadiens

Time: 6:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

Our last game of NHL predictions has the Canadiens looking to even things up against the Capitals. There’s an air of uncertainty in the goaltending situation. Logan Thompson is injured, but wasn’t ruled out as of the time of writing. Charlie Lindgren will get the call in between the pipes for Washington if Thompson can’t go. The Capitals is led by Dylan Strome (5) and Alex Ovechkin (4) in points.

Montreal is also facing questions in goal with Sam Montembeault‘s status up in the air. Jakub Dobes is the next in line for the Canadiens if Montembeault cannot go. The Habs looked much better in Game 3 and started throwing their weight around. Josh Anderson and Tom Wilson got into on the benches to highlight a wild Game 3. Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson are tied for the team’s lead in points this post-season with three.

Keep an eye on the goaltending situation to see how to play this one. If the backups are forced to start, Lindgren has more experience than Dobes. However, Dobes did beat Washington in the regular season. Despite this, take the Capitals.

Predictions: Capitals win 4-3.

Prop Bets of the Night

We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s stay with the last game of the night for our preferred props. The over/under for the Capitals versus Canadiens game is 5.5 and the uncertainty about the goalies lends to us going with the over.

As for individual props, go with John Carlson to get an assist for Washington. For Montreal, take Juraj Slafkovsky to get the over on 0.5 assists.
